The Virginia Nuclear Energy Consortium (VNEC) is pleased to host the first American Nuclear Society (ANS) “Day on the Hill” at the General Assembly in Richmond. ANS members will have the opportunity to meet with elected officials to discuss the nuclear industry, educate legislators on the importance of nuclear, and urge support for legislation that will advance the industry.
Elected officials will learn from you and hear directly from those working every day to move nuclear forward. The importance of this advocacy for the industry cannot be overstated.
- 8:00 am – Meet at the General Assembly Building (GAB)
- 8:30 – 11:30 am- Meet with Legislators
- 11:30 am – Lunch (GAB)
- 12:30 pm – Attend the general session in the Senate and House chambers.
- 2:00 pm – Possible cabinet or committee meetings
There will be a short prep meeting, via Zoom, on February 24 to go over the legislation the industry supports in this session and to answer any questions about meeting with elected officials for those who have not done it in the past. We hope you will be able to join us for that call. Details on time will be provided once we can gauge availability that day.
