Thank you for making the Virginia Nuclear Energy Summit a success. We particularly appreciate the support of both NEI and VNEC members who helped us drive our registration to nearly 100 participants. I hope you enjoyed the speakers and presentations, and had the opportunity to engage with the many different stakeholders in the room. If there is anyone who was there that you did not get a chance to meet, please let me know and I will arrange an introduction.
As discussed at the summit, VNEC and NEI will be launching a joint study of Virginia’s nuclear industry. The goal of this study is to develop and implement a greatly enhanced program that can demonstrate nuclear energy’s economic value and job generation potential in Virginia. Specific areas being studied are workforce, supply chain, industry growth and governmental/regulatory environment. Results of the survey will be aggregated and shared with VNEC members and relevant policymakers. This study will also help identify future industrial limitations and opportunities to reinforce the nuclear energy industry.
